This cake is hands on one of the best tres leches to exist and it is so easy!

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 Box Duncan Hines Classic White Cake Mix
  • 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/8 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 3/4 Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 Tbsp Vanilla
  • 1/3 Cup Sprinkles

Milk Blend

  • 3 Cups Whole Milk
  • 1 Can Evaporated Milk
  • 2 Cans Condensed Milk
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla

        Whipped Cream

        • 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
        • 1/4 Cup Sugar
        • 2 Tsp Vanilla

              Strawberries

              • 2 Cups Sliced Strawberries
              • 2 Tbsp Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
              • 1 1/2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  1. Cake will be made in a 9x13 pan. Prepare pan with non stick spray.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F
  3. In a bowl add all of the wet ingredients milk, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. Sift the dry ingredients and add to the wet ingredient mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Add sprinkles and mix until combined do not over mix so sprinkles do not begin to bleed.
  6. Pour batter on the 9x13 pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow cake to cool completely.
  8. Once the cake has cooled in a bowl add all of the milks for the milk blend and mix until combined.
  9. Carefully cut off the dome of the cake.
  10. Using a fork poke holes all over the cake.
  11. Pour milk over the cake and refrigerate while you make the whipped cream.
  12. In a separate bowl add the heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla.
  13. Using a hand mixer on low speed begin to mix until it begins to thicken.
  14. Once it begins to thicken bring speed up to high and mix until you have stiff peaks.
  15. Evenly spread the whipped cream over the cake.
  16. Cover and refrigerate for atleast 2 hours.
  17. During the time the cake sets also make the syrup strawberries because you want to add these while you serve the cake.
  18. In a bowl add the sliced strawberries, orange juice and sugar and mix until combined cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  19. Add to the top of the cake and sprinkle more sprinkles and enjoy!

TIPS

  1. Cake can be stored for 3-4 days to stay the freshest.
