Halloween M&M Cookie S'mores Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Brown Butter
  • 1 1/4 Cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Large Egg (Room Temp)
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla
  • 2 1/2 Cups of All Purpose Flour(Spoon & Leveled)
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Cup Milk Chocolate M&M's
  • Fluff
  • Candy Eye Balls

Instructions

Makes 9 Bars

  1. Prepare a 9" Square Pan with Non Stick Spray and Parchment Paper.
  2. Begin by making the brown butter since it needs to cool before adding the rest of the ingredients.
  3. In a heavy saucepan heat butter over Medium heat to begin the browning process. Stir constantly until the butter begins to turn into a golden brown color. It will be foamy and that is ok. Once the butter has reached that beautiful golden brown color remove from the heat and place it on a heat safe bowl to cool.
  4. While your butter cools sift your dry ingredients.
  5. Once the butter has cooled preheat oven to 350F
  6. In a large bowl combine your brown butter and sugars and whisk until combined.
  7. Add eggs and vanilla and whisk until combined.
  8. Add your sifted dry ingredients into the wet mixture and fold until just combined. Do not over mix.
  9. Add chocolate chips and m&m's and fold until combined. Do not over mix.
  10. The bars need to be baked right away this dough does not refrigerate well.
  11. Add 2/3 of the dough on the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  12. Add 1 1/2 cups of fluff spreading evenly over the top of the cooki dough.
  13. Add the remainning dough in patches over the fluff. Covering most of the marshmallow but leaving some exposed pieces of fluff.
  14. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom.
  15. Once the cookie bars come out of the oven place on a cooling rack and carefully add more chocolate chip, m&m's and the candy eyes around to create a fun scene.
  16. Allow cookies to cool completely.
  17. Enjoy!

TIPS

  1. Cookie bar will look a little undone once taken out they will finish baking in the baking out of the oven. Allow them to cool completely to set.
  2. Store your left over cookies in the fridge due to the cheesecake center. Take out the desired amount and allow to room temp for about 1 hour so the texture can be better.
